Join us
for 12 hours of COPE approved CE. The program will reach the
cutting edge of contemporary medical management with topical and
oral drugs used to treat eye disease, including glaucoma.
Clinical application of the latest trends in topical and oral
pharmaceuticals will be stressed with case presentations.
Emphasis will be given to sharpening the clinician's skills in
diagnosing and medically managing a variety of ocular disease
entities.

Dr. Melton is a North Carolina native. He completed his training
in primary eye care at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in
1981. He has attended the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology
Course in "Ophthalmic Pathology for Ophthalmologists." Dr,
Melton was also a member of the Student Optometric Service to
Haiti team in 1981. He has successfully completed the National
Board Examination in Optometry and the International Association
of Boards of
Examiners in Optometry Examination on "Treatment and Management
of Ocular Disease."
Recently Dr.
Melton received the "Glaucoma Educators of the Year" award
presented by the American Academy of Optometry. The William C.
Ezell Award "for the Best Article Based upon a Lecture Given at
the Southern Congress of Optometry" was presented to him by the
Southern Council of Optometrists. He is a Fellow in the American
Academy of Optometry. He served as a consultant to the Council
on Clinical Optometric Care and the Council on Optometric
Education of the American Optometric Association. He has been a
consultant in the areas of pathology and ocular pharmacology to
the International Board of Examiners in Optometry. He is also a
member of the adjunct faculty at the Pennsylvania Collage of
Optometry, Pacific University College of Optometry, and State
University of New York College of Optometry.
Dr. Melton has
lectured on the topics of ocular differential diagnosis and
medical management of the eye diseases throughout the
World. He has authored many articles in the optometric
literature, including the annual "Clinical Guide to Ophthalmic
Drugs" in Review of Optometry. Dr. Melton is a full-time
clinician delivering primary and secondary eye care.
