Dr. Fred Margolis received his B.S. and D.D.S. from The Ohio State University and his certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Dr. Margolis is a Clinical Instructor at Loyola University's Oral Health Center. He has lectured for over 30 years and is a nationally recognized speaker on pediatric dentistry, laser dentistry and dentistry for the disabled patient

Dr. Margolis has been the staff dentist for Glenkirk Campus for developmentally disabled children for fourteen years. He has also been the staff dentist for the Center on Deafness. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Dentistry International, and the Odontographic Society of Chicago.

Dr. Margolis has served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Dental Society and the Board of Trustees of the Illinois State Dental Society. He has held offices of the North Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society, including president. Dr. Margolis is a member of the board of directors of Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.

Dr. Margolis is a past-president of the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. He has served as the Chairperson of the Special Olympics Special Smiles program for Chicago for the past ten years. He has also been Chairperson of the Oral Health Section of the Illinois Public Health Association. He was recently appointed to the Dental Volunteers for Israel's Board. Dr. Margolis is the recipient of the Distinguished Member Award by the Illinois Dental Society in 2005

Dr. Margolis has given lectures in pediatric dentistry, dentistry for the disabled, and laser dentistry. He has presented for the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the Miami Winter Meeting, the University of Buffalo, the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, the Federation of Special Care in Dentistry's National Conference, and the International Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Seminar Series Lecturer for the American Dental Association. He recently was selected by "Dentistry Today" as a "top clinician in continuing education."

Dr. Margolis has contributed articles to both lay and professional journals. He is the author of a book, Beautiful Smiles for Special People, which is a course manual for dental personnel treating the disabled patient. He was recently appointed to the scientific editorial board of Dental Products Report.

Dr. Margolis is in full-time private practice of pediatric dentistry in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
