Dr. Heir is a past President of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. He is an Associate Professor of the University of Medicine and Dentistry in the Department of Oral Biology, Pathology and Diagnostic Services. Prior to that, he was a member of the faculty of the University’s TMJ and Orofacial Pain Center. Dr. Heir is a member of many professional organizations including The American Academy of Orofacial Pain, The American Federation of Prosthetics, The American Pain Society, and The International Association for the Study of Pain, The International Headache Society, and The American Headache Society. Over the past several years, Dr. Heir has also served in many capacities as the Chairman of the Department of Craniomandibular Disorders and Facial Pain of a major hospital, as an adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Care Sciences and Physical Therapy at UMDNJ, and has been a guest lecturer at many universities and conferences. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States and around the world. In addition to his extensive lecturing and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Heir has published papers, chapters and abstracts on topics related to the field of temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain.                                                                                 Detailed CV
